Bring on the rain 🌧
The marathon is really made up of all the months leading up to the 26.2–
The 4am wake ups, the 5am runs, the “pour your heart out” laps on the track when no one’s watching, the exhaustion, the celebration when a hard fought workout is behind you, the doubt, the lovely loneliness...the grit. ——
Track Tuesday —> 6 x 800s; 7.5 miles total

Fall has officially arrived! 🍂
This workout has been hanging in the balance the last couple days...
I’m so happy to have it done.
Am I the only person who starts hard runs with thoughts like, “but what if I can’t pull it off?” But what if you can?!?! Today I did.
10 miles, with 7 tempo miles thrown in the middle.
My legs have been sore all week from some new (and much needed) strength work. This training cycle is all about learning, adjusting and tweaking... 👌🏻 And boy is it uncomfortable! 🙃
Happy Saturday, friends!

Capped off week 1 of training with 12.3 muggy miles!
Average pace 8:00 (with three quicker miles tacked onto the end: 7:51, 7:30, 7:23)
46.9 miles for the week.
And my legs are already tired! 🙃
Happy Sunday!! @runsra_cim

First long sleeve run of the season! 🙌🏻
Cooler weather has arrived and I couldn’t be more pleased.
Five easy, breezy miles. ——
Training starts Monday. I’ve taken the last couple weeks really easy. I hit this summer fairly hard with my build up. I was feeling a little burned out with early mornings and mileage, so! I cut it way back. I needed to catch my breath.
Time barrels on whether we’re ready for it or not...so!! Let’s do this! 💕

I’m sure this is just an overgrown weed, but I couldn’t help but admire it. There’s just something about plants...I mean really, look at the size of this thing!
I always hate seeing summer go. Change is a thing for me and the changing of seasons from summer to fall has always been especially hard.
This year feels a bit different. August wasn’t just busy, it was chaos. I was lucky enough to spend copious amounts of time with friends and family all over the country. And now, my tank is empty. So as I say goodbye to summer, I find myself ready...ready to turn the page, ready to slow it down and ready to welcome a new season...one that I’m sure will bring much growth. 🌱

After three days in Nashville, who would have thought our favorite part of the trip would be an organic, farm to table, creamery in Indiana?
It’s been a great weekend, but we were all ready to slow it down with some fantastic food and beautiful scenery!

Exploring with my running shoes when I travel is my favorite!
Today it was a beautiful park in East Nashville.
6 muggy southern miles to start my Friday

Obligatory hotel gym selfie. 🤷🏻♀️
Six easy treadmill miles in an empty gym...in Louisville Kentucky.
Thankful for miles that come with ease when the body isn’t quite feeling up to par. 👌🏻
On to Nashville with a couple of my favorite lady friends today!!
Northern Michigan running is some of my favorite. I don’t often get a break from the grind of city streets.
This week I did, and I made good use of it.
40 miles for the week and a whole lot of soul searching. 💕

I can’t believe August is almost over...as is my base building.
Rumor has it training is right around the corner, we’re officially 100 days out from CIM and here I am: anxiously awaiting all such things.
I can’t say I feel completely ready to jump into training. I have to work pretty hard to keep my body happy. I keep thinking the old me who qualified for Boston with such ease will show up one of these days, but the truth is...she hasn’t. ———
But every day I’m able to lace up my shoes and enjoy one more date with the pavement is a good day.
So I’ll take the good days with the tough, the pain free running with the aches and pain...
And continue to find joy in this running journey. 💕
