New member @atlasworkbase!
A few things are happening right now that drove this decision:
1) Seeking a new job is a job in itself!
At the end of July I left a role as a UX Product Manager at a cloud security in robotics startup due to a problem I've run into with every startup I've worked with in the last year and a half: #funding. Fantastic, talented, technical team, game changing tech for secure communications in IoT, we just learned a lot the hard way, by experience.
Now, I'm looking for my next opportunity in project or product management either with a well-funded startup or (taking the leap) corporation, hopefully in #hardware, #robotics, or #IoT (seeking introductions!). Atlas has been a wonderful event host for the Seattle tech community and the team is awesome, I'm looking forward to getting to know more of the daily workers!
2) When you have the opportunity, #TreatYoSelf to an education.
With the mindset of product or project management roles, time to hustle, and opening a new career chapter on the business side of design/tech, I'm working on two courses.
@founderslive is launching entrepreneurship classes starting with #FoundersFive, a five week boot camp to survive and thrive as a #founder. I've always thought of a #career as everyone's own personal #startup and thought this would help me to get a bit more #organized. There's also that dream of launching a #sustainabledesign firm someday but I'm taking a step back for a couple years to tackle student loans and save up funds for grad school.
I stand by this: everyone should take a course in #entrepreneurship, and everyone should take a course on #designthinking.
Why not make this transition official with a #PMP Project Management Professional certification! This course will require some serious studying and a full work week of live, online, engaged listening, followed by a test (fingers crossed).

We had so much fun at our continuing education seminar! We were so excited to have world famous groomer, Olga Zabelinskaya come to Emi Pet to teach us more about Asian Fusian grooming. It's an adorable grooming style that is popular in Asia and has been sweeping across America too!
We had groomers attended from all over the country and some from right here in Columbus. They should be so proud of themselves for investing in their career and for their desire to keep learning. We loved meeting them all!
Thanks to Olga for traveling to our salon, the wonderful groomers who attended, Charlie and Mallie for being our wonderful models for the event and our clients for being so understanding when we take days off to improve our skills! 🤩
Emi Pet enjoyed hosting two continuing education event this year and can't wait to host more

When I first started hearing about oils I didn’t realize that there was a major difference between brands/types of oils. I thought- well if it says pure essential oil it must be good right?! That is just not the case. There is little to no regulation in the industry and labels don’t mean much. I knew that if I was going to be using oils on myself and family I wanted to know what was in that bottle and that i was getting the best “bang for my buck.” Step in @doterra. Personally I chose dōTERRA for several reasons- the main ones being how the oils are sourced/co-impact sourcing, stringent testing and the support you get in using oils. There is a reason top hospitals such as Vanderbilt and John Hopkins are using oils in their practices and research. Learn more about #thedoterradifference below. Questions? Please reach out! Would love to share with you the impact oils have had in my family ❤️❤️

Becoming a fitness instructor is the best decision I ever made. Originally, I just needed a way to make some money until I got a "real" job when I graduated from college. But shortly into the process I was hooked! I've been teaching at least 5 classes a week for nearly FIFTEEN years! Like all worthwhile endeavors, there are highs and lows, joys and trials. Likewise, teaching has helped me overcome life's challenges with grace and strength. No matter where I've been, I've had to put my life aside for those teaching hours in order to deliver a great workout to people looking forward to it as the highlight of their day. This has carried me through heartbreak, job changes, depression, buying and selling a home, surgery, and countless other things that may have derailed me otherwise. Teaching group fitness is a blessing I'm grateful for every day!
If teaching is something that's beckoning you, now is the time to take the leap! Sign up for a PiYo training between now and midnight Thursday to save 50%:

When I get busy, one of the first things that typically goes is my time to focus on education and learning more
Our goal with the #BodymassTrainerMentorship is to bring an educational opportunity to local trainers, but selfishly it allows me to learn from some extremely knowledgeable professionals in the field
I loved learning from Dr. Paxton of @performancecareclinics and @integratedkineticneurology at our past Lunch & Learn. If you’re interested in learning more from him, he will be hosting a Free seminar on Low Back Resiliency: Saturday 9/22 12 -1 @bodymassgym Arlington and Sunday 9/23 12-1 @bodymassgym DC
