The Three Sisters are three volcanic peaks of the Cascade Volcanic Arc and the Cascade Range in Oregon, each of which exceeds 10,000 ft (3,048 m) in elevation. They are the third, fourth, and fifth highest peaks in the state of Oregon and are located in the Three Sisters Wilderness, about 15 mi (24 km) southwest from the nearest town of Sisters, Oregon. The three peaks have 15 named glaciers among them, nearly half of all the 35 named glaciers in Oregon. A very old story suggests that the mountains were named in the 1840’s by members of a Methodist mission based in Salem || Beautiful photo taken by @natewyeth || Join us in exploring the Upper Left by tagging your adventures to #upperleftliving || #threesisters#brokentop#cascades
If you know me, you know I’m fascinated by the stories of those who came before us.
These pictures capture an ancient granary (at least 1000 years old) that served to protect food for the Fremont natives in Easter Utah. It sits on a cliff only reachable after an arduous and steep hike up this mountain.
The Fremont (like other native groups) were expert climbers, and as you can see, that climb was no easy feat. Even after the hike to this nearby spot, I still don’t know how they actually got up there. 😜
Haven’t been posting much about coffee lately but I’m still holding down the bar at @rapha in Santa Monica. Keep an eye out for some practice pours as the crew gets ready for the @10speedcoffee next week. 📸 - @mmandryto
When a woman comes to me for relationship advice, there's usually some role playing involved. Often I'll suggest "let's pretend I'm him. Now, try saying this to me..." and I'll ask her to practice new and different words than she's used to.
Very often, she visibly cringes... "No, I can't say that!" "What would he think of me?" "I'd scare him away for sure." I respond, "Don't worry! Right now it's just me and you. This is all JUST PRETEND." I'll never pressure you to do or say anything to him that doesn't feel right to you.
Sometimes it's good to practice being someone you're not used to being.
Even if you don't use the script you "tried on," you might gain a whole new insight from the possibility that YOU COULD.
You have more options than you think!
